Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is Montessori for Lebanon?
Montessori for Lebanon is a not-for-profit NGO that is affiliated with AMI (Association Montessori Internationale). It does not endorse or recommend any schools, neither does it endorse or recommend any training that is not AMI certified, and given by AMI trainers.
Q. What is AMI?
Association Montessori Internationale was founded by Dr Maria Montessori in 1929 in order to protect and preserve the integrity of her life’s work. After her death in 1952, it was led by her closest collaborators, including her son Mario and her granddaughter Renilde Montessori. To this day, it is the recognised authority on Montessori theory and practice.
Q. Who can benefit from Montessori for Lebanon?
Our work supports families, educators, school leaders, and community organisations who are interested either in building authentic Montessori environments for children and young people in Lebanon, or in simply prioritising in their work children’s intrinsic dignity. We welcome collaboration proposals.
Q. Do you offer Montessori training in Lebanon?
We collaborate with AMI to bring high-quality professional development opportunities to Lebanon and the region. When AMI-certified training is available, we share details through our website, mailing list, and social channels. The nearest training is the AMI 3-6 Teacher Training Diploma starting in April 2026.
Q. How can I stay informed about upcoming events?
We regularly host talks, workshops, and community gatherings. All upcoming events are listed on our Events page, where you can find full details and registration links. You can also connect with us through any of the communication platforms linked below (WhatsApp, Instagram, LinkedIn, Email, Facebook, and YouTube).
Q. How can I get involved or support your work?
There are many ways to participate – from volunteering your time or expertise, to partnering on projects, to making a donation that helps sustain our community work.
Q. What membership options are available?
We are developing a membership model designed to welcome individuals and schools into a shared community of practice. Membership will offer opportunities to participate in members-only events, receive curated Montessori resources, connect with peers across Lebanon, and be part of a network supporting authentic Montessori work in our region.
We plan to offer different membership types with suggested annual contributions. These will help sustain our outreach, events, and support for Montessori communities, while keeping core information and introductory activities accessible to everyone.
